It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Elizabeth Hughes of Dumas, Texas, born in Gruver, Texas, who passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Raymond Pearson and Minnie Pearson (Fields); her husband Clint Hughes; her son Jerry Lynn Stuart; and her siblings, Kay Bird, Joe Pearson, Carolyn Duby and John Pearson.

She is survived by : her children, Vonda Hustead of Jasper, AR and Paul Daniel Stuart of Grady, AR; her siblings, Marvin Pearson (Susie) of Amarillo, TX, Jeff Pearson of Dumas, TX, Tommy Pearson of Dumas, TX and Carla Turner of Dumas, TX; and her grandchildren, Nikki Caudle (Matt), K. C. Flores (Abraham), Savanna Stuart, Vatisha Carney (Brandon), Lecia Urrutia (Max), Jerrilyn Hustead and Isaac Stuart. She is also survived by her family and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors (1015 S Dumas Ave, Dumas, TX 79029). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church (311 N Maddox Ave, Dumas, TX 79029).
