He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edward Dobbs and Kathleen Elizabeth Williams Dobbs; his siblings, William Felton Dobbs, Minnie Mae Millican, Etta Inez Dobbs, Robert Jefferson Dobbs, Earl B. Dobbs and Mary Nell Stephenson; and his grandson James Henry Smith IV.
He is survived by: his former wife Katherine Riddell; his daughter-in-law Barbara Blevins; his wife Barbara; and his children, Debra Kay Lusk, Jack Allen Dobbs, Ricky Dobbs and Rhonda Dobbs. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
