He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Payne and Verna Payne (Wilburn). He is survived by: his wife Virginia Payne; his sons, Trevor Payne (Nina) and Allan Salmon (Betty); his stepchildren, Craig (Rhonda Scroggins), Carl (Sandra Scroggins), Cheryl (Britt Adams) and Carrie Jeans; and his sister Susie (Karl Camenzind). He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
