He was predeceased by: his wife Consuelo G. Valdez; his parents, Adolfo Valdez and San Juanita Valdez; his siblings, Consuelo Valdez, Rosa Flores and Juan Valdez; and his daughter-in-law San Juanita Valdez.
He is survived by: his children, Maria Del Socorro Rodriguez (Jose Isabel Jr.), Jose Luis Valdez, Blanca Estela Valdez, Carlos Valdez (Mary) and Beatrice Poe (Matthew); his brother Ramiro Valdez; and his sister-in-law Guadalupe Jaime. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
