She was predeceased by: her husband Jose S. Barrera; her son Jorge Luis Barrera; and her grandson Jeremy Barrera. She is survived by: her children, Jose David Barrera (Rebecca), Sylvia Canales (Noe), Miguel Angel Barrera (Anna) and Carlos Barrera. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home - Edinburg (208 E Canton Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A prayer was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Piedad Cemetery (1801 Wichita Ave, McAllen, TX 78503).
