She was predeceased by: her husband Guillermo Recio; her parents, Reyes Martinez and Felicitas Reyna; and her siblings, Juanita Cantu, Carmela Rodriguez, Jose Martinez and Jesus Martinez.
She is survived by: her children, Hector Peña Jr. (Sandra), Bertha Alaffa (Jose Luis) and Oscar Recio (Veronica); her grandchildren, Kristy Amaro (David), Gregorio Alaffa (Myranda), Jacqueline Peña, Guillermo Recio (Claudia), Jose Luis Alaffa Jr. (Lexi), Miranda Recio, Leyla Alaffa (Pablo), Belinda Recio, Korina Recio and Melissa Herrera (Tony); and her sister Zita Peña. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Legacy Chapels (4610 S Jackson Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A rosary was held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (208 E Camelia Ave, Hidalgo, TX 78557). A burial was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Valley Memorial Gardens (3605 N Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78573).
