He was predeceased by : his parents, Jose Marrero and Guadalupe Marrero; and his brother Jorge Marrero. He is survived by : his children, Mayra Loredo (Daniel), Brenda Cepeda (Javier) and Sergio Marrero Jr.; and his siblings, Jose Marrero, Sylvia Marrero, Leticia Guadalupe Marrero, Luis Enrique Marrero, Alejandro Saul Marrero, Eduardo Marrero and Hector Marrero. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Legacy Chapels (4610 S Jackson Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A prayer was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
