She was predeceased by : her husband Bernabe Escobar; her parents, Alfredo Cantu and Juanita Beltran Guerra; and her brother Guadalupe Lerma. She is survived by : her children, Debra Cavazos (John) and Steven Escobar (Joe Castro); her granddaughter Rebecca Cavazos; and her siblings, Alfredo Cantu Jr., Yolanda Herrera, Rudy Guerra, Norma Banda, Ventura Guerra and Gonzalo Morales. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Legacy Chapels (4610 S Jackson Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A prayer was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Palm Valley Memorial Gardens (4607 N Sugar Rd, Pharr, TX 78577).
