He was predeceased by : his parents, Willie Balcar and Mary Bartosh Balcar; and his siblings, Jennie Lee Balcar, Jo Ann Balcar Hlavaty and Adolph Balcar (Sophie).

He is survived by : his wife Mary Jane; his children, Sandra Knesek, Linda Berndt (Andrew), Clarissa Balcar, Brenda Harp (James) and Jeff Balcar (Sharla); his grandchildren, Kacey Knesek, Chase Berndt, Lacey Knesek, Clayton Harp, Kaylyn Harp, Macey Knesek, Cayden Balcar, Kyle Balcar and Natalie Lucas; and his great grandchildren, Kason Luna, Michaela Luna and Sister Mary Lee Smajstrla.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 at 4:30 PM at the Triska Funeral Home (612 Merchant St, El Campo, TX 77437-3440). A rosary was held on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St. Philip Catholic Church (304 W Church St, El Campo, TX 77437).

Memorial donations may be made to St. Philip Catholic School Library and St. Philip Catholic Church.
