He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Bechtel and Ella Pojar Bechtel; his son Thomas Allan Bechtel; and his siblings, Dorothy Bechtel Spangler, Betty Jane Bechtel Horwath, Lester Herbert Bechtel, Lloyd Glen Bechtel, Harold J. Bechtel and Ivan Bechtel.
He is survived by: his wife Anna A. Groth Bechtel; his son Rodney L. Bechtel (Kathleen E. Bechtel); his grandchildren, Amber Elizabeth Bechtel (Jay Hernandez), Heather A. Salas (Victor Salas) and Jason Thomas Bechtel; and his great grandchildren, Jakob Hernandez and Luke F. Salas.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (2500 George Dieter Dr, El Paso, TX 79936). A committal service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ft Bliss Cemetery (5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906).
