With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leopoldo Enrique Mendoza of El Paso, Texas, born in Bisbee, Arizona, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 17, 2025 at the age of 94. He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Oaxaca Mendoza; his parents, Juan Mendoza and Rosaura Maldonado Mendoza; and his siblings, Lydia Nabhan, Ina Elizabeth Gonzalez, Leonor Emma Dominguez, Benjamin U. Mendoza and Adelina Almanza.
He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Gallegos (Gilberto A. Gallegos), Linda A. Ruiz (Jesus Armando Ruiz), Ana E. Guerreo (Alberto Guerrero), Carolina Mireles (Alfredo Mireles) and Leopoldo E. Mendoza, Jr. (Olpa Mendoza); his grandchildren, Josue J. Gallegos (Jessica D. Gallegos), Isaac E. Gallegos (Adriana Gallegos), Rebecca N. Holmes (Robbyn Holmes), Vianey Sanchez (Christopher Sanchez), Lauren Rosanvallon (Remi Rosanvallon), Armando Ruiz, Jakob, Caleb and Leah Mendoza; and his great grandchildren, Ezra, Lucas, Benjamin Gallegos, Santiago, Sebastian Sanchez, Luna, Orion, Titan and Nova Holmes. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
