He was predeceased by: his sister Claradele Scharr Carruthers Brillhart; and his parents, John Grob Scharr and Monette Scharr (Lightstone). He is survived by: his children, Robert Oliver Jr. (Janice) of Katy and Jennifer Mitchell (Robert) of Jacksonville, NC. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
