He was predeceased by: his father Robert Simmons; and his stepfather John Houghton. He is survived by: the mother of his children Nora Nelson; his children, Jazz Simmons and Camille V. Watkins; his stepdaughter Angela Nelson; his sisters, Betty Burns (Thomas Burns) and Amanda Harrison (Clint Harrison); his stepbrother Phillip Houghton; and his granddaughters, Charlotte Simmons, Penelope Simmons and Savanna Simmons.
