He was predeceased by : his parents, James F. Nichols and Maria Nichols; his former life partner Hilda Hinojosa Nichols; and his brothers, Elias Nichols and Fred Nichols.
He is survived by : his wife Maria M. Nichols; and his sons, Robert Joseph Nichols (Laurie) and Rodney James Nichols (Maricela). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
