With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Lydia Rives (Florence, Texas), born in New Orleans, Louisiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Lydia left this world on September 11, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Col. William Thomas "Bill" Rives, Jr.; her sons, Tom and Johnny; her parents, Dr. James Brown Larose and Lydia Deynoodt Larose; and her siblings, Dr. James Browne Larose Jr., George Deynoodt Larose, Michael Joseph Larose, Joy Larose McDade and Belle Larose Lemarie.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Louise Rives and James Browne Rives (Magaly Perez Rives); her grandchildren, Rene Alexander Rives (Bevin Amira), Patrick Thomas Rives and Raquel Amelia (David Johnson); and her great grandchild Amelia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and at 4:00 PM at the Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church (6571 FM970, Florence, TX 76527).
