Albert Kvancz Obituary
Albert Kvancz, 97, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026. Born on August 5, 1928, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Albert was the youngest child of Joseph and Mary Kvancz of Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his brothers Steve (Betty), Joe (Helen), John (Peggy), Ernie, and his sister Rose.
Albert was the first in his family to attend college, earning his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was employed for most of his career by the U.S. Army as a civilian packaging engineer at Picatinny and Watervliet Arsenals.
Albert was married to Janet Marie Chiore for over 60 years until her passing in 2018. They initially resided in Paterson, New Jersey, and later settled in Albany, New York, where they spent the majority of their married years together. Through the ups and downs of life, they built a close‑knit family grounded in love, kindness, and laughter. Upon retiring, they moved to Tucson, Arizona, and then to Flower Mound, Texas, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Throughout their marriage, Albert and Janet were active volunteers and leaders in their local school systems, scouting programs, community service projects, and church. Albert converted to the Catholic faith in the early 1970s, finding additional meaning and comfort through shared faith with his wife. He especially enjoyed working on home improvement projects, playing cards, and singing in choirs throughout his life—from his college years to church and community choir groups well into his 80s.
He is survived by his children David Kvancz (Denise) of Tucson, Arizona; Kenneth Kvancz (Maryann) of Highland Village, Texas; and Linda Ann Haimowitz (David) of Flower Mound, Texas.
Albert was the proud grandfather of Matthew Kvancz (Victoria) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Timothy Kvancz (John Dave) and Melissa Cola (Michael) of Fletcher, North Carolina; Kyle Kvancz (Niki) and Jacob Haimowitz of Flower Mound, Texas; Kaye Bell (Dannye) of Oak Point, Texas; Samuel Haimowitz of Arvada, Colorado; and Nina Haimowitz of Austin, Texas.
He was also the cherished great‑grandfather of Julie, Keana, and Ziva Cola; Audree Nobel and Sawyer Kvancz; and Tatum Bell.
Albert lived a life defined by integrity, curiosity, and devotion to his loved ones, extended family, and friends. He will be remembered for his intelligence, quiet humor, and unwavering kindness—leaving behind a legacy of perseverance, love, and joy in life.
