He was predeceased by: his grandfather Julio Gomez; and his uncle Guillermo "Willie" Gomez. He is survived by: his mother Clara Rubio; his stepfather Santos Rubio; his father Jeremiah Vela; and his stepmother Mirella Gomez. He is also survived by great-grandson of his paternal great-grandparents.
