She was predeceased by: her parents, James Tobin and Mabel Tobin; and her brothers, Mark and Michael Tobin. She is survived by: her husband Harold; her son Roger Aliff; her stepson Justin Schoonover; her grandchildren, Seth, Henslee, Gavin, Avanell and Dahlia; her great grandchild Maiana; and her siblings, Rena (Ellis), Jeannie, Jimmy and Andy (Deborah). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“My deepest condolences to all of Brenda's family and friends. Especially Harold and Roger I am so sorry. May the Lord comfort you through this time. Brenda and I were friends for over 40 years. My strongest memory of her is her laughter and the way she could turn so serious so quickly. She was my first real roommate we were so young, and life so was exciting. I know she loved with all of her being and family was important. Your laughter echoes in my heart. Until we meet again. Donna Meade”
