He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Mathews and Eula Cox Mathews. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Mathews; his brothers, Cecil Mathews and James Mathews; his children, Mike Mathews (Cynthia), Stacy Mathews and Joyce Mathews (Stan Pettigrew); his stepson Steve Ragsdale (Teresa); and his grandchildren, Jenny Conway, Michelle Mathews, Chance Ragsdale, Lance Ragsdale, Sam and Brady.
