She was predeceased by: her parents, John Roland Glau and Florene Edrington Glau; her daughter Mary; her husband Robert; and her siblings, Lois Laverne Glau Glenn and Gordon Bruce Stringer.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Carson (Ted Freeman) and Daniel Carson (Joy Mehan); her grandchildren, Michelle Walter (Reid), Dana Johnson, Christopher Carson and Anna Carson; her great grandchildren, Henry, Samuel and Rye; and her niece Phyllis Rice.
In Germany, she established Orphans, Inc., a charity staffed by the wives of Army officers that provided clothing, shoes, and food for children orphaned during the war. Later, she was a Camp Fire leader for junior high girls when her own daughter was a preschooler; a top-notch fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in Dallas for several years; and a volunteer at every school her children attended.
