He is survived by : his wife Suzan Mata; his daughter Kristen; his son-in-law Alex Bumpas; his grandsons, Henry and Logan; his son Mark Jr.; his daughter-in-law Rachel Mata; his daughter Allison; his son-in-law Ryan Marquardt; his grandchildren, Rileigh, Augustine (Augie), Blake and Theodore (Teddy); his daughter Megan; his son-in-law Michael Reel; his granddaughter Mila; his daughter Kelly; his son-in-law Bobby Smith; his grandchildren, Davonte, Devin, Bobby Jr., Payton and Elizabeth; his son-in-law Fernando Nuñez; his grandchildren, Rosslyn, Jay, Tristan and Julien; his former life partner Marisol Muñiz Mata; and his sisters, Imelda Noon, Melanie Glazier, Vanessa Hoskinson and Stephanie Ramos-Cornell. He is also survived by spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home (5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, USA). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 2:15 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).

“Mark and I became friends when flying together often at AA over 2 decades. He was a joy to fly with, a great Captain, humble and respectful towards his crew. After we both retired, we stayed friends. We were both simulator instructors at the same facility which made it easy to stay close. I will miss our great conversations and easy friendship. This world lost a beautiful human, and heaven has gained a special soul.”
