He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewald Rode and Elsa Meier Rode; his parents-in-law, Louis Miller and Gladys Zoch Miller; and his brother-in-law Elgin Schneider.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Miller; his children, Nicholas Rode, Laura Cobb (Aaron) and Alyssa Petsch (Rusty); his grandson Mason Petsch; his siblings, Barbara Schneider and James Rode; his sister-in-law Diane O'Rourke (Jimmy); and his nephew Ryan Schneider. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
