He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur Sagebiel and Ida Sagebiel; and his siblings, Viola, Paula, Ewald, Esther, Ruben, Hildegard, Nolan and Erwin.

He is survived by : his wife Gussie Lou Sagebiel; his children, Rebecca Sagebiel Kendrick and Stephen Sagebiel (Holly); his sister Elsie Koennecke; and his grandchildren, Amber Kendrick, Hannah Kendrick, Joshua Kendrick, Emma Sagebiel, Nicolas Sagebiel Kathryn Foshee and Gabriel Foshee Emily Foshee.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fredericksburg Funeral Home (2278 S US Hwy 87, Fredericksburg, TX 78624). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
