It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Diana Matthews of Gainesville, Texas, who passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Wallace and Ima Delle Barthold; her husband Weldon Matthews; and her siblings-in-law, Larry, Carol Matthews, Carolyn Matthews and Donnie Matthews.
She is survived by: her children, Butch (Hollie Matthews) and Misty (Floyd Pittman); her grandchildren, Payton (Grant Briney), Lauren Pittman, Bret Pittman and Mackenzie Pittman; her great grandchildren, Whylie, Yancey Briney, Ryder Gorton and Laylah Marshall; her siblings, Debra (Mike Beavers), Janie (Richard Hughes) and Sonny (Ferne Barthold); and her sister-in-law Peggy Matthews. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
