He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Paul (Margaret Essex), Anne (Glenn Bulan), Caroline (Fred Torcaso) and Julia Essex of Galveston, TX; his grandchildren, Mary Essex of Washington, DC, Gregory Torcaso of Baltimore, MD and Henry Essex of Chicago, IL; and his caregivers, Minerva Alvarado, Tina Franks Sanchez, Amanda Rondine, Gloria Hernandez and Yvonne Gilbert. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
