We are sad to announce that on May 19, 2025, at the age of 87, Julia Auzenne Lazare of Galveston, Texas, born in Leonville, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Amyar Guient Auzenne and Casimer Auzenne; her husband Marshall Lazare; her sons, Michael Lazare and Donald Ray Lazare; her grandchildren, Derek Phillips Sr., Felix Fontento and Myesha Dugar; her great grandchild Derek Phillips Jr.; her daughter-in-law Lisa Black Lazare; and her siblings, Isreal, Henry, Charles, Howard, Vincent, Benjamin Auzenne and Sister Mary Benjamin.
She is survived by: her sister Verdna Lazare; her children, Diane Lazare Thompson, George, Cecil and Troy Lazare (Kimberly); her grandchildren, Tyerre Boyd (Keisha), Paul Thompson, Deaundre Griggs (Destiny), Marvin Jobe, Rickey, Richard Lacey, Derrick Grooms, Rick Phillips, Louis Johnson, Michael Scott, Andrew Winkelmann, George Jr., Troy Jr., James Jr., Cecil Jr., Dytrell, Trayzelle, Travon Lazare, Rekeisha Phillips, Sakemah Thompson, Jonetta Dugar, Rickate Lazare, Donnika Gipson and Ravan; her siblings-in-law, Helen Auzenne, Lillie King and Nelson Robertson; and her close friends, Marie Payne, Rose Etienne, Louise Johnson, Aline Lattimore, Patricia Walker, Madonna, Missy Salters and Jessie Curtis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (1420 31st St, Galveston, TX 77550). A rosary will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lakeview Cemetery (3001 57th St, Galveston, TX 77551).
