With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lynn Benson Nielsen of Galveston, Texas, born in Mobile, Alabama, who passed away on June 26, 2025 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her brother-in-law Ski Florkiewicz; her brother Ricky Benson; and her sibling's children, Cheryl Nielsen, Michael Florkiewicz and Matthew Florkiewicz.
She is survived by: her former husband Ben Falls; her child Lynn; her husband Mike Nielsen; her son Jeffery Falls (Victoria); her grandchildren, Blaise, Claire and Mateo; her son Joshua Falls (Tori); her grandchildren, Edith, Iris and Owen; her son Timothy Falls (Emily); her grandchildren, Bennett and Julia; her daughter Shanna Thompson (Ben); her grandchildren, Lilly, Chase, Bryce and Koralee; her son Micheal Nielsen, Jr.; her great grandchild Emily; her daughter Kelly Nielsen; her siblings, Don Benson (Rona) and Carolyn Florkiewicz; and also, Cheryl, Shanna, Michael and Kelly Nielsen. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and a wide circle of friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at the Garten Verein (2704 Avenue O, Galveston, TX 77550).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the ADA Women's Center, honoring Lynn's lifelong commitment to healing and community support.
