He was predeceased by : his parents, Mariano Banuelos and Rosario Ortega-Banuelos; his siblings, Rueben, Eva, George, Olga, Romeo, Herbert, Ernest, Gloria and Mary Ellen Banuelos; and his children, Jo Ellen Banuelos and Steven Eric Banuelos.

He is survived by : his sister Evangelina Banuelos; his children, Terry Rutherford (Art), Darlene Glaser (Bill), David Banuelos (Stacy), Angel Price (Bret, Sr.), Marian Stanzel (Paul) and Gregory Banuelos (Tsu); and his wife Mary Ellen Puente.

In order to support his large family, he also worked at the Moody Compress, as an exterminator, and as a representative for a foundation company.
