He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Ott and Bunnie Hawkins Ott; his mother-in-law Annie Delmot Johnson; and his nephew Mason Ott. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Johnson Ott; his daughters, Liesl Ott Hays (Harlen Hays) and Marta Ott (Samuel Wilson); his grandchildren, Mady Hays, Sloane Wilson and Ethan Hays; and his siblings, Marshall Ott (Angie Ott), Mark Ott (Tami Ott), R. Craig Ott (Sheila Centenio Ott), Danny Ott (Monica Patane Ott), Terry Ott (Linda Galloway Ott), Linda Ott Thompson and Denise Ott Charpiot. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In remembrance of Richard's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Isidore's Church, 711 Denison Avenue, Manhattan Kansas, 66502.
