He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Dial and Mary Katherine Dial (Worth); his siblings, Claudie Dial, Ted Dial, Maudie Housewright and Evelyn Morgan; and his grandson Don Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; and his children, Carol (Johnny Boren), Lynn (Nola Dial) and Don Dial. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
