Sherry Marie McDade Obituary

Sherry was born May 30, 1949. She passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Teresa Perkins, two brothers, Marlin and David Cantrell, and husband Don. She spent much of her childhood in Mesquite, and graduated from Mesquite High School. Don and Sherry first met when working at Varo, a Garland company. She assembled electronic parts, and Don was an engineer. She later took nursing at a community college and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse, working in a hospital first and then in home health care. Don and Sherry were married on December 6, 1999, and moved into a new house in Garland the following spring. Sherry's hobbies included gardening, home projects, and bird watching. A favorite vacation was to the Corpus Christi area, visiting the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge for bird watching and King Ranch for horses and wildlife. Another favorite vacation was to New Orleans, visiting the French Quarter and touring the bayous. Sherry was a very caring person, always trying to help family and friends. We will all miss her.
