It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Lee Barrett of Garland, Texas, who passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Alvie O. Lewis; her husband Cecil "Emie" Barrett; her son-in-law Ronnie McCleary; her mother Gertrude Mathis; her brothers, Lester of James, WJ, John, Alvis and Lewis; her grandson Keith Baxter; and her sisters, Winnie Duckworth and Maxine Irvin.
She is survived by: her children, Rick Barrett (Donna), Sandra "Sandy" McCleary and Greg Barrett (Gail); her sister JoNel Manley; her grandchildren, Jennifer McCleary, Becky, Paul Thompson, Brittany and Jason Cathey; her great grandchildren, Shaun McCleary, Hailey, Joey Costello, Keeley Thompson, Jayden, Kaitlyn Thompson, Betty Baxter, Victoria Baxter, Bailey Baxter, Obie Turner and Claudia Joy Turner; and her great great grandchildren, Dallon Cooper, Bella McCleary, Zane Ramirez, Ashton Costello and Sadie Costello. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Crossroads Church (7900 Chiesa Rd, Rowlett, TX 75089). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Restland Cemetery (13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243).
