He is survived by: his close friend Betty Joan Harless; his wife Betty Harkema of Round Rock; his children, Sue Gordon (Rick) of Midland, Lisa Harkema (Thomas Van Lith) of Georgetown and Donald Harkema of Austin; his grandchildren, Ryan Gordon (Katie Moore) of Midland, Allyson Gordon of Victoria, Emily Riehle (Robert McCarn) of Georgetown and Samantha Riehle (Grant Ellis) of Lubbock; his brother Steve Harkema (Pam) of Hampton, Iowa; and his siblings-in-law, Carroll Harless (Jan) of Iowa Falls, Darrell Harless of Charles City, Iowa and Margaret Ritland (Gene) of Iowa Falls, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
