He was predeceased by : his parents, John Robert Scott, Sr. and Ida Dell Stracener Scott; his wife Leveta Boyd Scott; and his sister Pearl Lee Collins. He is survived by : his children, Robert Terry Scott (Debbie) and Sheila Scott Dowlen; and his grandchildren, Cristy Batte (Blake), Kelly Blau (Brandon), Scott Dowlen (Stephanie), Lisa Autry, Dana Dowlen, Brook Bell and Ryan Kibler (Destinee). He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ (Hwy 6) De Leon, St. Jude's Research Hospital, or to the West Texas Boy's Ranch, in honor of John.
