He was predeceased by : his parents, Major W. Lackey and Ruth Lackey; his wife Janie; his siblings, Bobbie Wilson and Billy Lackey; and his daughter Shari Lackey.

He is survived by : his siblings, Kay Orrell and Doug Lackey; his children, Major W. Lackey III (Les Lujan) and Pamela Joyce (Patrick); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Joyce and Alyssa Joyce.
