He was predeceased by: his parents, William David Nave and Ruth Cox Nave; and his son John David Nave II. He is survived by: his wife Loreta Torres Nave; his sons, Matthew, Kevin, Kent and Julius; his grandchildren, Kianna Jade, Kaeden Jacob, Jayden, Joshua, Kent Kaleb, Kyle David and Kailey Rae; and his sisters, Emma Sue (Richard Wilson) and Anna Lee (Butch Locklar). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grand Prairie Funeral Home (733 Dalworth St, Grand Prairie, TX 75050). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
