He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Stanley and Dorothy Retha Nance Carroll; his wives, Alva Nell Carroll and Anita Palmer Carroll; and his siblings, Sammy Lovell Carroll, Loy Dean Carroll, Orvin Lee Carroll and Retha Faye Carroll Hughes.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Wayne Carroll, Jr. of Arlington, John Palmer (Julie) of St. Simons Island, GA, Jennifer Diane Carroll Bier (David) of Madison, AL and Nita Jo Palmer of Troup; his brother Ellis Carroll (Dottie) of Edgewood; and his grandchildren, Ryan Bier, Matthew Bier, Johanna Whitten, James Palmer and Joe Palmer. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bartley Funeral Home (1015 W Wolfe St, Grand Saline, TX 75140). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at the Creagleville Cemetery.
