She was predeceased by : her siblings, Marva Brown, Erma Faye Garner, James Brown and Genola Brown; and her grandson Keyshawn Davis.

She is survived by : her children, Tamala Dow (Ken), Keenan Allen (Tarah), Carlos Carter, Antonio Carter (Rachelle), Patrice Carter-Kidd (James), Keisha Carter, Teisha Carter and Maya Tyson (Darryl); and her siblings, Lonnie Jones, James Mitchell, Kenneth Brown (Betty), Sandra Brown (Will), B. Dwight Brown, Rev. Ferrell Brown (Berneice) and Louise Brown (Billy).

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Love & Integrity Funeral Service (4900 King St, Greenville, TX 75402). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Kavanaugh Methodist Church (2516 Park St, Greenville, TX 75401).
