Patricia Ruth (Lewis) Leeper Obituary

Patty has gone to be with our Lord and Savior. She lost her battle with Cancer. She was born on April 7, 1962, in Dallas, TX to Grenville, III and Dorothy Fortine Lewis.

As the youngest of 5 and only true Texan in the family, she was sister to Grenville Lewis IV, Linda Lee Lewis Kugler, Paul Reeve Lewis and Thomas John Lewis. Growing up in Canyon Creek in Richardson, Texas, Patty participated in Girl Scouts, Dance, and was on the Plano Sr. High School Drill team.

She graduated from Plano Sr. High School in 1980 and continued a special relationship with her mother, Dorothy, through decades of travel visiting every state, to Europe, going on many cruises, and making wonderful memories of their special time together. She worked as an executive admin at EDS, Amerisource Bergen and L3Harris.

While working at EDS, Patty met her love, Rick Leeper, and married on March 20, 2010. They had a wonderful life together spending time and traveling with their many cherished friends. Patty was a BIG Dallas Cowboys fan, wearing all their paraphernalia for games and would be crushed if they didn’t win.

She loved nature and her flowers, with a backyard filled with bunnies, squirrels, birds and feeders. While most people were trying to get rid of squirrels, she was feeding them. Patty also loved her Shelties throughout her life; Johnny, Ranger and Skipper.

Her faith was strong, guided by her favorite saying, “Let your faith be bigger than your fear”. One of her many special qualities was her love for others and desire for their well-being over her own. Everyone who knew Patty would describe her as hopeful, kind, positive and the most selfless person you could know.

Patty will be forever missed by her husband and family as they grieve her loss, but rejoice in the scripture, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding” (Prov. 3:5). A Celebration of Life will be held for Patty at 4:00 PM on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 at United Methodist Church, 503 N Central Expressway, Richardson, TX. Memorial contributions to honor Patty can be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Dawn Whitten lit a candle

“Patty was our dearest friend since 1982. We are so sorry and send our sincerest condolences. Patty was always that “bright shining star”! She always had a smile that would light up the room when she walked in…we have so many great memories from over the years…from our years working together at EDS, to many travel adventures, to dancing the night away back in the day! Our hearts are broken, but we will see our dearest friend again in Heaven! Fly high with the Angels…dearest Patty!”
