He was predeceased by : his parents, Juan Avila and Julia Avila; and his siblings, Maria Salinas, Maria De Jesus Flores, Julita Avila and Juan Avila Jr..

He is survived by : his siblings, Reyna Hernandez, Aurora Flores, Esiquiel Avila and Odilia Rosales; his wife Paula Avila; and his daughters, Bernice Sanchez (Tony), Julia Rodriguez (Norberto), Kathy Smith (Terry) and Amy Vera (Sergio). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
