With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vernon Sherwood Oliver Sr. (Groves, Texas), born in Port Arthur, Texas, who passed away on June 28, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Eugenia Romero (Cowoo); his parents, Dallas Oliver and Anna Oliver; his siblings, Johnny, Cleve, Dallas Jr., Marion, Alda, Irma Bell, Cricket and Lilly; and his great grandchild Kolin Foster.
He is survived by: his siblings, Marie and Shirley; his children, Charlene Meriwether (Ross), Dallas Paul Oliver (Arlene), Bernadette "Bernie" Anderson (Alan) and Vernon "NuNu" Oliver, Jr.; his grandchildren, Michael, Kristen, Leslie, Nicholas, Allison, Matthew, Dakota and Dallas; and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Andrew, Nicholas, Jaxon, Cayne, Brock, Mia, Reese, Riley, Carson, Landon, Dustin, Reagan and Peyton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Groves, Texas.
