We are sad to announce that on February 4, 2026, at the age of 93, Cruz Portillo of Hale Center, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Jose C. Rodriguez; her husband Antonio Portillo; her mother Esther Rodriguez; and her siblings, Pedro, Linda, Chuy, Manuel, Gerardo, Fina and Anna Rodriguez.
She is survived by: her children, Luis Antonio Portillo (Vickey) of Hale Center, Juan David Portillo of Acuna, Richard Portillo of Alabama, Carlos Portillo (Mary Lou) of Hale Center and Veronica Portillo of Lubbock; and her sisters, Maria Jose Orta of Del Rio and Minerva Perez of Del Rio. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 6th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Church of the Valley (1201 Main St, Hale Center, TX 79041). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at the Plainview Cemetery (100 Joliet St, Plainview, TX 79072).
