It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Hildegarde Machart Schaefer of Hallettsville, Texas, who passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Raymond Machart; her husband Weldon; her mother Hilda Derrich Machart (Derrich); and her siblings, Leona Machart, Dorothy Gleason, Norma Wasek and Allen Machart.
She is survived by: her daughter Diane (Tommy Kainer); her granddaughter Robin Kainer of Victoria; her great grandchildren, Raegan Koncaba of Corpus Christi, Weston Koncaba and Savanna Krueger of Victoria; her siblings, Ann Arnold McDonald (Jim), Marilyn Lutringer of Houston, Sharon Johnston (Billy) and Melvin Machart (Charlene); and her siblings-in-law, Bobbie Machart of Conroe and Calvin Schaefer of Hallettsville.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Kubena Funeral Home (507 N Main St, Hallettsville, TX 77964). A rosary was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (400 E 5th St, Hallettsville, TX 77964).
