He is survived by : his wife Helen Layton; his daughters, Sharon Appelt Timm (Robert) of Hallettsville and Alana Appelt McCarn (Chris) of The Woodlands; his son-in-law Horacio Carrizal; and his grandchildren, Reid Timm, Alexander Carrizal, Jacob Carrizal and Claire Carrizal.
