He was predeceased by: his parents, Marietta Schommer (Brennan) and Armand Schommer; his siblings, Hans, Mike Schommer and Rita; his son Carlos Hernandez; and his granddaughter Kayla Hernandez.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Schommer; his pets, Chiquita and Wera; his stepdaughter Norma Rangel (Miguel); his grandchildren, Sean Robbins (Olivia), Liddie Thompson (Jarrod), Lizzy Scott (Tom), Marshall, Randall Garcia, Sherrianne Hartshorn (David), Abigail Purchase (Shad), Alex Garcia, Reannon Rogers, Sam Schommer, Sophie Schommer, Kaden Schommer, Aliyah Schommer, Karla Michelle Hernández, Kayla Hernández, Alexis Rangel and Rebecca (Jael Zavala); his great grandchildren, Dunlin, Morgan, Dory, Izzabella Bailey-Ann Scott and Alexander John-Lee Scott; and his siblings, Armand (Erin Schommer), Vita Schommer and Marietta (Gary LondonHans). He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (23610 Stuart Place Rd, Harlingen, TX 78552).
