He was predeceased by : his parents, Jose Garza and Sofia Rodriguez; his wife Maria M. Garza; and his siblings, Luisa Garza, Antonia Garza, Beatriz Garza and Librado Garza.

He is survived by : his children, Evangelina Davis (Max), Rosa M. Garza, Juan Garza, Jr., Daniel Garza and Eloy Garza (Tanya); and his brothers, Jesus Zambrano and Manuel Zambrano. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren.
