She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicolas Lerma and Isabel Leandro Lerma; her husband Roberto Tapia; her son Roberto Tapia Jr.; her siblings, Rene Lerma and Carmen Ramirez; and her siblings-in-law, Adan Saldana, Adalberto Ramirez, Armando Tapia, Maria "Cuca" Lerma and Olga Garcia.
She is survived by: her daughter Biddy Tapia-Flores; her grandchildren, Roberto Tapia III (Meghan), Gregory Rene Tapia (Krystal), Jennifer Nicole Rangel (John David), Marisa Renee Flores and Addie Flores; her great grandchildren, Jeremiah Elijah Tapia, Jamie Nicole Tapia, Emma Renee Tapia, Jazlynn Rose Rangel, Willow Marie Tapia and Sophia Mae Tapia; her siblings, Socorro Saldana, Gilberto Lerma and Edmundo Garcia (Dolores); and her brothers-in-law, Abelardo Tapia Jr. (Carol) and Apolonio Garcia (Olga). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Trinity Funeral Chapel of the Holy Spirit (1002 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A rosary was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church (1509 New Combes Hwy, Harlingen, TX 78586).
