He was predeceased by: his parents, Sammy "Sam" D. Hoover Jr. and Ethel Ruth "Mub" Hoover (Haynes); his sons, Ron and Sammy; and his great grandchild Cutter Combs.
He is survived by: his friend Sam; his wife Peggy Hanson; his daughter Kimberly Perkins (Delbert) of Henrietta; his daughter-in-law Janice Hoover of Wichita Falls; his grandchildren, Jennifer Snow (Dale) of Nocona, Joseph Combs of Bowie and Judson Perkins (Brande) of Amherst, Texas; his great grandchildren, Charli Snow, Avery, Carter, Beau, Bree, Berkley Perkins, McKenna Booth and Kynleigh Green; and his siblings, Helen Hightower and Jody Hoover (Rose). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
