He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth Ray Atwell and Sally Ann Cockerham Atwell; his wife Judy; and his uncle Troy Cockerham. He is survived by : his daughter Audra Deanne Atwell of Zapata, Texas; his brother Ray Atwell (Teresa) of Olla; his aunt Jena Cockerham of Tullos; and his grandchildren, Alinna Garcia of San Antonio and Joseph Garcia of Zapata.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Lincecum Cemetery (388 Lincecum Church Rd, Pollock, LA 71432). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
