He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Alfred and Marguerite Kolbe Sauer; his sisters, Joyce Harlowe and Betty Lou Cutrer; and his siblings' children, Phyllis Cutrer, Carol Cutrer and Steven Cutrer.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jo; his children, Cindy Sauer-Chovanec (Steven), Donna Sauer-Lemmons, Ken Sauer (Melissa) and Glenn Sauer; his grandchildren, Keely Sauer-Correa (David), Michael Sauer, Cole Sauer (Beth), Cherokee Sauer and Peyton Chovanec; his great grandchildren, Dean Correa, Grant Correa and Parker Sauer; and his brother-in-law Bill Harlowe. He is also survived by several loving nieces, many cousins and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
